Hear is the adapter board installed on the H89 three port serial card. The adapter is situated so that the USB connector will be accessible from the top once the serial card is installed in the H89. As mentioned in the text, none of the serial port protocols or management software are needed for this adapter. The serial card simply provides a conveninent place to get the 8 data lines and the decoded chip enable signal for port 340Q. If another port is desired, the software on the H8/89 would have to be modified. With the serial card, ports 320Q and 330Q could be made available.
